Start sharing
- Select Share screen at the bottom of the meeting.
- In Chrome and Edge, choose what to share:
- A tab is best for video and sound.
- A window shares one app.
- Your entire screen shares everything you see.
- Pick what you want in your browser's window, then select Share.
In Firefox and Safari, your browser's own picker opens straight away.
Share sound and video
To play a video with its sound, share A tab and leave Share sound on. Turn on Optimize for video for smooth motion. Leave it off for sharp text, like slides or code.
Chrome and Edge can share a tab's sound. Firefox and Safari can't share sound.
While you share
You see a preview of what everyone else sees. If you share your entire screen, the preview can show itself again and again, like facing mirrors. Select Hide preview to hide it for you only. Everyone else still sees your screen.
Select Stop sharing when you're done. You can also use Alt+S (⌥S on a Mac).
One person at a time
When someone is already sharing, you'll see who. Hosts and co-hosts can select Share instead to take over. A host can also let only hosts share.
On a phone
Phone browsers don't let websites share the screen. You can still see what others share.
