Mute and turn off your camera
Select Mute or Stop video at the bottom of the meeting. A red button means it's off. Select it again to turn it back on.
If you start talking while muted, FaceOn reminds you that you're muted.
Talk while muted
Turn on Push to talk in Settings, under Audio. Then, while you're muted, hold Space to talk and let go to mute again. It works when you're not typing in a box.
Choose a microphone, speaker or camera
Select the small arrow beside Mute or Stop video, then pick a device. Audio settings… and Video settings… at the bottom of each list open the full settings.
Check how you sound and look
In the meeting, select More, then Settings:
- Audio has a live meter for your microphone and Test speaker to play a short sound.
- Video shows your camera as you'll appear.
Before you join, the preview has the same meter and a Play a test sound button.
Useful settings
-
Noise suppression keeps the noise around you out of the meeting:
- Standard, the default, is your browser's own. It mostly filters out steady noise like fans and hum.
- Strong also filters out typing, traffic and voices in the background. It runs on your device, so your audio isn't sent anywhere else for it, and it takes a little more of your device's power.
- Off sends your microphone as it is, for music or a quiet room.
Where a browser can't run Strong, Standard is on instead, and FaceOn tells you.
-
Mirror my video shows you mirrored, as in a mirror. Only you see it that way.
-
Send HD video looks sharper but uses more data.
-
Turn off my camera when I join starts every meeting with your camera off.
